Size Charts and Sizing Info

General Sizing Information & Guidelines

There are no “standard sizes” for garments sold in North America. We recommend that you use your body measurements to determine the correct European size to order. Most of our listings also include the approximate North American equivalent size, and the measurements of the actual garment (chest, waist, back waist length, waist/hemline length, and sleeve length from centre back) for comparison to a similar garment that you currently wear. Please see the section on alterations below the women’s size chart.

Alterations

Generous side seam allowances make our front or back zip-closure dirndls easy to alter. We do not recommend altering by more than one size(2”) either way as this will change the overall fit and appearance of the garment.

***If in doubt, we suggest consulting a seamstress prior to purchasing a dirndl that requires alterations.***

Most of our little girls’ dirndls also have the same generous seam allowances, and about a 2 ½ -inch hem, so can easily be altered as the child grows. Aprons have a slightly shallower hem. Men’s jackets can be altered (made smaller) by a reputable tailor. There are not sufficient seam allowances to allow for letting out.

Men’s lederhosen have a built-in adjustability of approximately 1” (to make waist larger).
