It's that time of year again!  Our annual pre-oktoberfest sale will be held at the Condordia Club, Kitchener http://www.concordiaclub.ca  on October 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Come and see what's new and exciting - fun and frisky dirndls, blouses and accessories for women.  Great new styles in lederhosen, shirts, vests and jackets for men.  Kid's clothing, too.  A great selection of hats and pins for the whole family!!

We'll be set up in the Weinstube, which is a large annex adjacent to the restaurant, on the lower level.   The restaurant is open during the sale, so plan to stay for a delicious lunch, supper or snack!

Check the store for new arrivals, and follow us on facebook //www.facebook.com/TrachtenQuelle/ for sneak peeks, contests and giveaways.

We occasionally hear visitors to our showrooms commenting that our prices "appear" to be higher than European online shopping sites.  So I thought I'd spend a few minutes and spill the beans on offshore online shopping in order to clear up this (not-so-common) misconception.

First and foremost when browsing these online shops, you must remember that the retail price (in Euros) is only a part of the equation, no pun intended.   When you make a purchase from an offshore e-commerce site, there are always additional charges that must be taken into account when tallying the total cost: handling, shipping, import duties and taxes.

But first of all, there is conversion of the currency to consider. If you are paying in Euros but banking in Canadian Dollars, you can figure on adding 40% to 50% to the price in Euros for conversion.  So,  a dress that retails for 120 E. actually costs you $165.00 (at 40%).  Don't forget...

Online orders are coming fast and furious, our phone has been ringing off the hook and there's always new mail in the inbox...sure signs   that Oktoberfest celebrations must be just around the corner.  Though we're kept pretty busy all year long, come September things really start hoppin' around here, with people of German heritage from across Canada, the U.S.,  and around the globe purchasing new finery to wear to their fall festivals.

During Oktoberfest, everyone gets into the spirit. Whether celebrating their German heritage, or channeling their "Inner Bavarian" for a few days, sporting traditional German attire is a big part of the fun. That's where we come in! Our pre-Oktoberfest trunk shows are the place to be in Kitchener for dirndls, lederhosen, shirts, vests, jewellery...all things Trachten. Over the years, we've outfitted countless Oktoberfest volunteers, festhalle staff, club dance groups,...
